We have all heard of the emperor who was tricked into parading naked by two swindlers who claimed to have prepared for him a dress of invisible threads which only the wise could see. The stenchy appeasement even among the most powerful who surrounded him prevented them from stating the obvious. His vanity drove the emperor wearing the invisible dress to lead a procession around the city where the townsfolk played along with the pretense, until a child, still unaware of the potential fruits of sycophancy and the possible perils of telling the truth blurted: The emperor is naked! Is it high time for us to emulate that child from the fairy tale? Most will agree that yes, it is, but even more will agree that this onus of truth should be rested with someone else and not them.
